Occupational Therapist

As a licensed Occupational Therapist, provide statewide training, technical assistance, and resource sharing to support children birth to 22 years with intensive and complex medical and special education needs for the Center on Disability and Community Inclusion. This position will join two unique project teams at the Center: The Vermont I-Team and the Pediatric Professionals Collaborative of Vermont (PedsProVT). The Vermont I-Team (Interdisciplinary Team) assists local teams of families, educators, and other service providers in the delivery of quality educational services to students (3-22 years) with intensive special education needs through technical assistance, professional development, training, support for systems change, and family support. This position will serve the Northeastern, Central, and Northwestern regions of the state with the Vermont I-Team. PedsPro provides professional development, peer-to-peer networking, and resource sharing for pediatric allied health professionals through workshops, trainings, listserv management, newsletters/blog posts, and membership support. related service providers to interdisciplinary, early intervention, and related services personnel through workshops, trainings, and membership support.
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy and VT state licensure (or be eligible to have VT state licensure) as an Occupational Therapist with a minimum of three years experience providing direct or consultative services to children, birth to 22, with intensive and complex medical and special education needs, and knowledge of best practices for supporting functional skills and access to curriculum, in learners birth-22, as well as MTSS implementation, collaborative models, and UDL strategies to support school capacity-building. Effective communication, ability to produce professional quality work, demonstrated presentation skills, and interpersonal teamwork skills required. Ability and willingness to travel between school-based field locations is required.
Knowledge of Assistive Technology service provision and AAC integration and collaborative decision-making. Knowledge of person-centered planning and/or student-centered supports. Knowledge of equity, diversity, and inclusion, including experience with historically underserved schools, communities, students, and families.
$84,000 to $102,000 annually. Due to this being a 10-month position, actual anticipated salary range is $70,000 to $85,000
This position will require travel around the state. This is a 10mth yearly position.
Contingent on continued funding, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, Travel to and from worksites required, Bargaining unit position, Background Check required for this position
