Maintenance Planner

The following position is open in Virgin Islands , Virgin Islands, U.S. .

What makes this a great opportunity?

The Maintenance Planner provides logistic support to the Maintenance Team and specifically to the Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Planner develops maintenance job plans with correct tasks, trade skills, times, materials and resources to do the maintenance work safely, efficiently and with right-first-time methodology.

Role Responsibilities

Plan, schedule, and coordinate corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
• Review all service requests and develop the work order schedule for short term (weekly), long term (monthly) and shutdown maintenance activities.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in determining job priorities.
• Ensure that the CMMS software data files are complete and current.
• Facilitate the stores and purchasing functions to ensure materials are on hand and in sufficient quantities to support the maintenance activities.
• Maintain the availability of the sites' technical documentation in order to support the maintenance staff.
• Support the Maintenance Manager with annual budget estimates by providing accurate historical data from past maintenance department performance.
• Identify, analyze, and review equipment maintenance problems with maintenance engineering.
• Help develop, report and follow-up on key performance indicators (KPI's)
• Assist in educating operations and facilities personnel in maintenance management methodology.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas utilizing 5S methodology.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma / GED
• Completion of a production maintenance apprenticeship and/or 3-5 years of relevant experience, or on the job training.
• A degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance or engineering, a plus.

COMPENTENCIES AND SKILLS
• Must be able to interface with mechanical, electrical and civil construction contractors as well as equipment manufacturers, technicians and diagnosticians.
• Must have good communication and writing skills.
• Must have an acute sense of visual and auditory observation of the plant environment.
• Must have good understanding of maintenance craft skills.
• Must be a team player.
• Must be computer literate:
o Ability to effectively interface with plant CMMS software.
o Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
o Good working knowledge of Windows 10 operating system.
o Good writing and communication skills.
• Obtain and continually refresh personal knowledge of all plant equipment, buildings, documentation, etc...
• Interact positively with visitors to the Cruzan Rum Distillery including tour program visitors, corporate visitors, and VIPs.
• Adheres to and promotes quality, environmental, health and safety as one of the organization's business priorities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Workday will involve activities that vary throughout the day and will be both in an office environment, as well as in the field at a manufacturing facility.
• Occasional exposure to excessive heat & humidity, intermittent to constant noise, vibration, dust and slippery or uneven walking surfaces.
• Occasional lifting or moving heavy materials in difficult work positions.
• Must be willing to respond to occasional intermittent after-hours emergency calls.
