Job Description:

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, highly motivated self-starter and interested in a role within a manufacturing setting that involves learning a business and working closely with operations. The positions' physical location is in Hammond, IN or Granite City, IL and requires minimal travel.

  • Assist with financial reporting activity for the Camp Hill financial entity, which includes:

    • Assist with the month-end closing process, including preparation of journal entries, general ledger account analysis and variance analysis

    • Provide financial support to the Camp Hill management team, acting under the direction of the TEOC Controller

    • Review weekly freight charges for accuracy

    • Reconcile assigned accounts monthly with a focus of clearing reconciling items in a timely manner

    • Assist in preparation of monthly reports and supporting schedules for the monthly operations package presented to ASF executive leadership. Participate in the review of these reports as requested. Prepare operational plan-to-actual analysis, as directed.

    • Assist the TEOC Controller with the preparation of monthly estimate, quarterly forecast, annual Plan, and 5-Year Strategic Plan

    • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to existing processes and internal controls

    • Assist the TEOC Controller and Amsted Tax department in preparation of Year End Standards and Tax Schedules

    • Coordinate physical inventory of fixed assets, including capital assets and capitalized tooling

    • Perform additional tasks, financial analysis and ad-hoc projects as needed to support the GM and the TEOC Controller for Camp Hill and other TEOC locations as needed.


  • Perform operational responsibilities, which include:

    • Daily summary to site leadership of key performance indicators for ACHP business (sales, absorption, inventory, etc.)

    • Assist with financial analysis for capital project requests for new tooling or other assets that support the growth and sustainability of the business

    • Assist with management of the cost accounting system, including update of material costs for the entity

    • Assist with the coordination of payroll for the site

    • Collaborate with the Director of Supply Chain and TEOC Controller to implement inventory management procedures and a cycle count verification process that yields < 1% shrink

    • Collaborate with operations and manufacturing engineering management to analyze production metrics and research and explain variances to the operating plan


  • Additional Responsibilities include:

    • Safety: Demonstrate awareness of safety requirements in plant work areas and wear appropriate PPE for assigned work. Provide financial support for safety improvement initiatives

    • People: Exhibits commitment to stated company values, including Value of the Person.

    • Environment: Participates in environmentally appropriate workplace maintenance habits, including 5S. Recognizes environmental risks in processes and collaborates with key site leaders to ensure environmental stewardship within the facility


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 0-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge and familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, CMA/CPA is a plus

  • Proficiency in SAP strongly preferred. Other ERP experience considered

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally to achieve intended results

  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner

  • Must possess the ability to analyze financial data and provide recommendations to facilitate growth and profitability for the organization

  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time
