Responsibilities

Altec is hiring an Accounting Associate in Birmingham, AL. This is an entry-level accounting position that processes standard accounting transactions under direct supervision. This position will have a primary focus on Collections for our Accounts Receivable Department.

Responsibilities

• High volume emails and phone calls
• Processing payments for customers
• Create and/or review monthly statements for customers
• Communication with customers regarding account status
• Contact assigned customer accounts to collect delinquent payments and keep accounts current
• Communicate with customers to resolve payment issues and answer customer inquiries
• Document all customer interactions in accounting system
• Assists in monthly closings as needed
• Assists with regulatory and tax compliance
• All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

• High School Diploma or GED required
• C ollections experience strongly preferred
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
• PC skills Office 365 suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be able to work with team members and work with direct supervision
• Personal Credit Check and Approval required
