Job Description:

Forensic Architect/Engineer - Testifying Expert

Orcutt Winslow is seeking highly skilled individuals to perform analysis and formulation of opinions relative to design and construction problems and disputes. The ideal candidate would have experience in analyzing relevant project information and assembling facts to substantiate opinions regarding design errors, omissions and construction deficiencies which have caused damages and as such generated a dispute, claim or lawsuit.

Capabilities:
  • Minimum four-year college degree in related field of architecture/engineering and or construction management or equivalent (to be determined by division director).
  • Minimum seven years of experience in the architectural and/or construction fields (prior experience with similar forensic work is a plus).
  • Licensed professional.
  • Very familiar with the design and construction process and familiar with instruments of service used within same.
  • Familiar with Building Codes.
  • Basic understanding of destructive testing procedures.
  • Computer literate in Word, Excel, Power Point, and design software.
  • Good understanding of the English language with capacity for report writing and proof reading (knowledge of other languages may be an added plus).
  • Willing and capable of traveling as needed for project inspections or meetings.
  • Ability to work effectively with others to meet deadlines and manage occasional stress resulting therefrom.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prepare consulting agreements and expert reports.
  • Coordinate with experts and researchers to evaluate project data.
  • Offer testimony (depositions, arbitrations, trial etc.) as necessary for a particular case.
  • Prepare and/or supervise demonstrative exhibits for presentation.
  • Engage with existing and new clients and participate in business development efforts.
  • Monitor fee collection for cases consultant is responsible for.
  • Assist in maintaining the project index and reference library.
  • Willingness to live in or near Orlando, Florida preferred.
  • Organizing case files/documents for research.
