The Basics:

Tanium is seeking a highly motivated, proactive attorney to join our legal team and specialize in regulatory and compliance matters. The right person for this position must be a team player who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, has a pragmatic approach to problem solving, and is interested in gaining experience and developing expertise in a variety of business areas.

What you'll do:


  • Monitor global laws and regulations related to Tanium's business practices, product sales, and operations
  • Translate regulations into actionable steps and manage the implementation, reporting, and training of actions across the organization
  • Provide legal and business advice regarding the following specific areas:

    • Anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, and third party diligence efforts
    • Global privacy laws and data security standards
    • Export controls and trade restrictions
    • Government and procurement regulations (including lobbying requirements)
  • Manage projects for risk mitigation and regulatory compliance
  • Conduct and manage investigations into regulatory and policy compliance matters

We're looking for someone with:

  • Prior experience handling regulatory matters, with a deep understanding of one or more of the specific areas noted above.
  • A curious generalist, who has a desire to learn and master new areas
  • JD from an accredited institution
  • Active and in good standing in at least one state bar
  • At least 4 years of relevant legal experience at a law firm, government agency, and/or in-house
  • Experience working in-house in the software industry
  • Experience with global privacy regulations and DPA negotiations
  • Exceptionally good communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a tightly-knit legal team
  • Ability to work cross-functionally within an organization to build consensus and achieve strategic goals as well as the ability to enforce legal requirements without alienating clients

What you'll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000 to $370,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
