Our client is a leading asset manager headquartered in Chicago and is seeking a Application Support Specialist to join their trading technologies team. As an Application Support Engineer, you will collaborate closely with developers to provide sophisticated research and compliance tools to users across the firm. This role is ideal for technically minded support professionals who thrive on diving deep into issues and code.
Your Responsibilities:
Operate key components of a sophisticated data analysis pipeline.
Monitor and troubleshoot production jobs.
Address data-related issues, including code investigation and resolution.
Consult with developers to determine optimal solutions and suggest system enhancements.
Respond to user issues through support channels, averaging 2-10 per day.
Provide L1 and L2 support, collaborating with developers on L3 support.
Facilitate support processes for new development teams and applications.
Your Qualifications:
Previous experience supporting high-performance applications in the financial markets industry.
Proven experience working in Linux environments.
Strong experience market data or order data systems.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Knowledge of financial data transfer protocols such as FIX and native protocols.
Exposure to object-oriented code; familiarity with Java and Python.
Experience with version control software (e.g., Git or SVN).
Cloud computing experience, preferably with AWS.
SQL proficiency, including querying, updates, table creation, and basic database maintenance.
