The Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Application Development team. The role is responsible for developing and enhancing enterprise-level applications, and will design, implement, and troubleshoot a complex environment consisting of web application and database servers.
Experience
Prior employment experience in information systems
Ability to manage competing demands, adapt to changes, and prioritize multiple projects

Experience executing unit and integrated tests of applications
Ability to perform troubleshooting and debugging tasks
Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation to assist with database, software, and web application maintenance and upgrades
Collaboration with internal IT teams on problem resolution
Exhibit strong technical and interpersonal communication skills
Agility
Knowledge of Agile software development
Ability to design and implement features from requirements stories
Ability to assess work efforts and necessary time to completion utilizing Scrum/Agile frameworks
Perform routine tasks, such as updating statuses and attending team meetings
Qualifications:
1-3 years of software engineering experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related area of study
Software programming knowledge and experience with C# (C++ or Java is acceptable, but will be trained in C#)
Basic knowledge of web technologies and the tools used in the client's development environment (ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, AngularJS, Angular 10+, TypeScript, Visual Studio)
Familiar with source code control systems and software versioning tools like Git and GitHub
Application development knowledge of and experience with relational databases (SQL Server or MySQL) or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, or Elasticsearch)
Microsoft certifications or other relevant certifications are a plus
