Salary

Up to $125,000 annually + relocation assistance available

Ideal Candidate
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Production Engineer or within a Production environment as an Engineer.
  • Experience in Chemical Manufacturing Plant environment.
  • Distillation + Batch experience

  • This client specializes in custom and specialty chemical manufacturing, crafting solutions for diverse markets like oil & gas, paints & coatings, and oleochemicals.   • As a Production Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing distillation projects and hydrogenation reactors, optimizing plant operations, and contributing to yield improvement and cost-saving initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the operation of distillation projects and hydrogenation reactors.
  • Understand and learn how equipment associated with the campaign operates.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to provide data and chemical engineering support for specific product campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Technical Advising and plant personnel to optimize operations and meet plant goals.
  • Liaise with Quality Assurance personnel to ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Assist the Engineering Department in developing cost-effective projects to optimize production.
  • Develop procedures for items already in production or planned for future production.
  • Prepare and enhance operating instructions.
  • Troubleshoot plant operations and generate reports detailing campaign efforts.
  • Develop and maintain campaign-specific schedules to meet production demand.
  • Ensure efficient campaign operations through collaboration with plant personnel and data analysis.
  • Actively participate in identifying process and safety improvements with field operators.
  • Communicate technical information and issues to plant personnel at all levels when necessary.
  • Optimize the disposition of waste generated in each project to improve cost savings.
  • Lead quarterly improvement meetings with Technical Advising personnel for main projects.
  • Lead pre-campaign meetings prior to start-up to discuss all project execution-related matters.

Requirements:
  • B.S in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of work experience in a similar engineering role (Production, Process or Operations Engineer preferred).
  • Willingness to participate in the 24/7 production facility call-out policy when needed.
  • Ability to function and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to work on shifts for 30 days during the 90-day probationary period.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC Card.
  • Honeywell Experion experience is a plus.
  • Microsoft Project experience is a plus.
  • Various physical activities, including walking, working from a seated position, ascending/descending ladders, bending, and using upper extremities.
  • Ability to exert force when necessary and lift/move objects as required.
  • Subject to environmental conditions, including extreme heat, vibration, and exposure to hazards.
  • Must wear appropriate PPE for tasks as required, including FRC uniform, hard hat, safety toe work boots, safety glasses, gloves, etc.
