Onset is seeking a highly skilled and motivated candidate to join our team. The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in developing and building mechanical/electromechanical fixturing, automating our floor processes, and improving the quality and efficiency of our products through process improvements. The Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate closely with our manufacturing engineering team, quality control, and production departments to achieve these goals.

Note: This is a 100% onsite position.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and build mechanical/electromechanical fixturing for manufacturing/testing of PCB's and final products.
  • Implement automation solutions, including traditional automation and robotic arm product assembly.
  • Observe and optimize manual processes to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automation into production.
  • Design and implement different types of in-circuit and functional testing of PCB boards and fully assembled products using industry standard and company developed equipment.
  • Design and implement mechanical fixtures to support manufacturing processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation, calculate ROI, and lead automation projects from concept to implementation.
  • Utilize SolidWorks and 3D printing tools for prototyping and design.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience with robotic arm automation, Universal Robotics being a plus.
  • Strong 3D modeling and 3D printing skills using tools like SolidWorks.
  • Reading and creating electrical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic schematics
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and perform in-circuit and functional testing.
  • Experience with designing and building systems using PLCs.
  • Knowledge of advanced testing technologies, including flying probe and bed of nails fixturing.
  • Mechanical fixture design expertise.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing automation projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Root Cause Analysis experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Lean/Six Sigma Experience
