Job Summary

The Senior Model Development and Execution Manager drives the strategic development, execution, and governance of complex financial models to drive business objectives and regulatory compliance. This role leverages deep quantitative expertise to design and implement sophisticated statistical/non-statistical models, translating complex data into actionable insights. The Senior Manager drives innovation through cutting-edge analytical techniques and effective communication of model performance/recommendations across technical and executive audiences. In addition, this role fosters a culture of continuous improvement, prioritizing high-value initiatives and delivering impactful, data-driven solutions. The Senior Manager collaborates cross-functionally, advancing organizational priorities through strategic vision, technical prowess, business acumen, and exceptional communication skills.

Essential Job Functions:



  • Model Development, Execution and Analysis: Partner with stakeholders to build complex data-driven statistical and non-statistical financial models that align with business objectives and meet regulatory standards. Execute assigned models and analyze inputs, processing, and outputs to derive actionable insights for senior leadership. Anticipate needed adjustments, develop solutions, and defend recommendations.


  • Process Management, Compliance and Governance: Develop and maintain comprehensive model documentation and operational processes, procedures, and controls. Perform model monitoring, maintenance, and any required remediation activities. Proactively optimize model execution processes, controls, and derived insights.


  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively communicate analytical insights, model performance, and recommendations to diverse audiences spanning from technical experts to executives. Translate complex data and methodologies into clear, actionable insights that inform strategic decisions. Develop comprehensive materials tailored to convey impactful data-driven solutions to both non-technical and technical stakeholders. Foster strong collaborative partnerships to deeply understand business needs, estimate project benefits, and advance organizational priorities through data-driven approaches.


  • Strategic Analytics and Innovation: Translate strategic business needs into impactful analytics projects by generating innovative ideas, estimating potential benefits, and driving consensus across cross-functional stakeholders. Leverage deep subject matter expertise to design and execute end-to-end analytical solutions, from exploratory data analysis and methodology selection to development documentation, implementation support, and ongoing performance monitoring. Stay ahead of industry trends through continuous research into best practices, testing of new methodologies/tools, and effective collaboration with vendors on data, techniques, platforms, and outsourced models. Exhibit strong leadership in prioritizing high-value initiatives, championing change, and delivering transformative solutions that incorporate econometric principles and business objectives.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:


  • Normal office environment, some travel may be required.

  • This position is hybrid with an onsite schedule of 3 - 4 days per month.

  • In-office requirements are subject to change based on business need.

  • This position is currently available to candidates that reside within 60 miles of a Bread Financial location.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Statistics, Econometrics, or a related field of study.

  • 12+ years of experience developing statistical models and performing model output analysis, including hands-on proficiency; in building and operating sophisticated statistical models, utilizing machine learning techniques, data mining, and programming.

  • Experience translating complex analytical findings into actionable technical and business recommendations, bridging the gap between data-driven insights and strategic decision-making.

  • Experience communicating intricate quantitative concepts effectively to both technical specialists and non-technical business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in Finance, Statistics, Econometrics, or a related field of study.

  • 13+ years of experience developing, implementing, executing, and analyzing regulatory models for lending institutions.

  • End-to-end model lifecycle experience with CECL and Stress Testing models.

  • Experience defending models from regulatory challenge and addressing regulatory feedback.

Typical Starting Range:
$133,500.00 - $241,900.00

Full Salary Range for position:
California: $153,500.00 - $302,400.00

Colorado: $133,500.00 - $254,000.00

New York: $146,800.00 - $302,400.00

Washington: $140,100.00 - $278,200.00

The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.

Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial's 401(k) plan.

All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates (except those located in Illinois) receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time ("PSST") upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.

Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
