Job Description:

Position Summary:

The Director of Player Personnel for women's basketball will assist the Head Coach and her staff in all aspects of operations for the program in accordance with NCAA, American Athletic Conference, and University rules and regulations. This position will oversee the program's community engagement initiatives and assist with donor and letter winner engagement. In addition, this position will assist with content creation, social media presence, film analysis, and other aspects of the program's operations as assigned by the Head Coach.

Workplace Requirements :

This position is exclusively on-site, necessitating all duties to be performed in-person on campus during both regular office hours, mornings, nights, and weekends as team schedule requires. This position will require regular travel. Per Rice policy 440 , work arrangements may be subject to change.

Proposed Hiring Range: Commensurate based on education and experience.

*Exempt (salaried) positions under FLSA are not eligible for overtime.

Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two or more (2+) year of related experience


Preferences:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
  • Experience with recruiting databases and scouting software
  • Collegiate basketball playing experience


Essential Functions:

  • Oversee women's basketball community engagement initiatives by creating and implementing opportunities for student-athletes to serve on the Rice campus and within the greater Houston community
  • Assist with all aspects of donor and Letterwinner engagement including the planning of fundraising events and establishing routine communication with program stakeholders
  • Assist the women's basketball creative content manager with tasks and projects relating to recruiting and social media presence
  • Assist with the creation of self-analysis breakdowns for the Head Coach and assistant coaches
  • Be present at all team activities and travel with the team to all away games
  • Assist the Recruiting Coordinator, Director of Operations and Video Coordinator with team-related duties
  • Assist the coaches with scouting reports as well as all practice and game preparation
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach
