Job Description:

We are seeking a Director of IT Operations on behalf of a client located in Camas, WA. The Director of IT Operations will a play pivotal role in spearheading our IT Infrastructure and Service Desk Team. This position is instrumental in delivering exceptional customer service and fostering robust partnerships across the organization, vital for navigating the demands of our high-growth, high-tech manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to assess requirements and design a technical architecture roadmap aligned with enterprise goals.
  • Stay abreast of technology industry trends and their potential impact, ensuring our infrastructure remains agile and secure.
  • Evaluate, prototype, and select infrastructure solutions adhering to architecture standards, prioritizing availability, security, reliability, scalability, and manageability.
  • Proactively manage existing IT infrastructure, minimizing risks associated with End of Life technologies and developing annual technology refresh plans.
  • Lead and prioritize activities within the IT Ops team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Enhance user awareness of IT services through coordinated training, documentation, and communication initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and guidelines for end-users and IT staff, ensuring efficient resolution of issues and robust disaster recovery plans.
  • Drive employee development through coaching, motivation, and proactive skill-building initiatives.
  • Oversee department budget and capital expenditures, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Manage the acquisition and deployment of new technologies and services, including vendor evaluation, contract negotiation, and project management.
  • Supervise IT Managed Services Providers (MSP) and other contractors/vendors, ensuring alignment with our standards and requirements.
  • Conduct security reviews of designs in collaboration with the information security team, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Oversee quarterly SOX Access Review as a member of the cyber-incident response team.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, striving for greater efficiency and quality in IT operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Identify and address training needs within the team, fostering a culture of learning and development.
  • Uphold a safe work environment for all employees, reinforcing our commitment to safety.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in information technology, preferably within high-tech manufacturing.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role, demonstrating strong supervisory and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate with global teams, and deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Strong executive engagement and relationship-building skills, fostering collaboration across the organization.
  • Willingness to be hands-on when necessary, with a commitment to coaching and developing team members.
  • Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, and experience in highly regulated industries are a plus.
