Overview

The Cafeteria Staff prepares and serves food to the employees of Cook Vandergrift.

Responsibilities

• Develop menus for meals with nutrition and pricing a priority
• Prepare and place orders to vendors for necessary food and supplies
• Prepare and serve food for morning break and lunch times
• Keep work areas clean as per Department of Agriculture Regulations
• Operate various equipment/machines in cafeteria
• Stock shelves, refrigerators, freezers with supplies
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment/machinery in cafeteria
• Document freezer and refrigerator temperatures according to Department of Agriculture Standards
• Count and document cash register receipts
• Assist in determining inventory/supply levels
• Complete necessary documentation
• Perform various computer functions
• Provide input to supervisor/manager to improve department operation and efficiency

• Identify and report possible preventative and correction actions
• Works independently and as a team member, referring questions to department supervisor and/or manager
• Responsible for cash drawer
• Responsible for knowing costs and keeping within the budget allowed for meals
• Responsible for compliance to company's safety policies

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED
• Must pass a post-offer physical exam and drug screen
• Good judgement and organizational skills
• Ability to perform basic math and accounting functions
• Ability to get along with other people internally and with vendors

• Basic computer skills

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to occasionally lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Majority of time spent standing
• Majority of day spent in clean, climate controlled work area
