A recognized tech services company in New York City is currently seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to join their growing team. In this role, Tax Accountant will be primarily focused on preparing calculations and reconciliations related to the global income tax provision and U.S federal and state income tax compliance.
Responsibilities: The Tax Accountant will:
Conduct book to tax reconciliations for all entities within the U.S. consolidated tax filing group
Analyze data to compute foreign tax credit by bucket and identify potential limitations
Review estimated tax payments and extension calculations, overseeing the payment process
Monitor the accurate and timely filing of returns, extensions, and payments
Compile tax provision calculations for U.S. and foreign entities
Calculate and record monthly tax provisions
Organize data for tax adjustment calculations and facilitate data collection
Validate tax payable/receivable transactions and balances by entity with Tax Manager
Assist in validating and preparing support for deferred tax asset/liability balances
Maintain and update worldwide tax calendar, tracking due and filing dates
Manage and update FIN 48 and FAS 5 reserve files, including interest tracking and preparation of information supporting state tax positions
Process estimated tax payments and extension calculations
Prepare calculations and supporting workpapers for U.S. and state income tax compliance
Assist in tax planning and special projects.
Qualifications:
5+ years of related Tax and/or Accounting experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
Experience with a Publicly Traded company and/or national Public Accounting firm
Knowledge of Internal Control documentation requirements for tax processes under Sarbanes-Oxley
Familiarity with U.S. Taxation of Domestic and International transactions
Solid understanding of ASC 740 (formerly FAS 109)
Microsoft Excel proficient
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills

Highly organized
Desired Skills:
MS/MBA in Taxation
CPA and/or parts passed
Experience with Hyperion, Hyperion Planning, and/or JD Edwards
