OVERVIEW:

HYBRID ROLE (Melville, NY)

This position supports, enables, and improves upon the operational components of our commercial and residential energy efficiency programs. The candidate will perform a variety of application validation and processing activities as well as follow-up activities in support of Energy Consultants, installation Partners and customers on energy efficiency projects. As a Project Specialist, the individual will be responsible for timely and accurate application review, document validation, assignment of field inspections, interactions with contractors and customers as well as data processing associated with progressing applications through approval and payment.

The Project Specialist (PS) will be required to operate across several programs and multiple dashboard queues to assure that projects are continuously progressed based on daily responses from contractors and customers. The PS will have specific accountabilities to assure project accuracy and that project requirements have been validated and met. Candidate must be able to work within a multi-faceted environment to meet both project and program goals and objectives. The candidate must operate at a high degree of accuracy and be comfortable assessing submittals against standard technical requirements to ensure equipment qualification requirements are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Project Specialist will use software to progress energy efficiency applications through required milestones and interact across functional areas in order to ensure timely responses to customers; raise issues and exceptions to appropriate levels for resolution; provide insights on how to improve program design and processing for better overall delivery and value; understand and communicate changes in volume trends to help offset potential delays; ensure outstanding customer and contractor satisfaction; cross train coworkers on program requirements; participate in local Long Island, NY marketing events and conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to understand and follow procedures;
  • Able to quickly assess information and take appropriate actions to keep process flowing
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Strong communication
  • Comfort with fast changing work priorities and multitasking.
  • Business acumen to include a working knowledge and understanding of invoice documents, equipment specifications and operational functions required to provide sound program support.
  • Aptitude for Microsoft Outlook Suite. Ability to work with excel sheets and to create and upload documents and files.
  • Requires attention to detail and analytical skill.
  • Three plus years experience supporting customer programs.
  • Energy Efficiency program experience.
  • Associates degree from an accredited college in a related discipline.
  • Professional presence with desire to improve processes and exceed program savings goals.

Highly Qualified Candidates will demonstrate:
  • Bachelor's preferred.
  • Advanced Word skills;
  • Understands and has strong Excel skills
  • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining customer, client, and vendor relationships with high level of satisfaction
  • Process improvement or Project Management experience
