We are seeking an API Solutions Architect with ample experience to lead the design, development, and management of our API infrastructure.
The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in building and managing API gateway services, preferably using Kong Enterprise or Konnect editions.
As an API Solutions Architect, you will play a crucial role in driving the adoption of best practices in API development, thus ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of our API ecosystem.
Responsibilities
Design and implement a robust API gateway service using Kong Enterprise or Konnect editions
Develop and manage new services on Azure cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize API development initiatives
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team on API design, implementation, and integration
Establish and maintain API development standards, best practices, and documentation
Ensure the security, scalability, and performance of the API infrastructure
Monitor and optimize API performance, usage, and adoption metrics. Experience with Datadog and/or Grafana a plus.
Provide consultation and support to the developer community on API development topics and the use of the API gateway service
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in API development and management
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on API development and management
Experience building and managing an API gateway service using Kong; Enterprise or Konnect editions beneficial
Experience building and managing new services on Azure cloud infrastructure; AKS experience highly beneficial
Experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies such as Terraform or Ansible
Good understanding of API development topics such as REST, OAuth/OpenID Connect, and API security.
Good communication skills to provide consultation to the developer community on API development topics and use of the API gateway service
Software development experience developing or consuming APIs in a language such as Python, Java, Golang is beneficial
