Job Description:

Inventory Technician

Responsibilities

  • Comply with Client stores processes and ensure compliance with SOPs.
  • Inspect and Receipt of Incoming goods, handling of non-conforming product.
  • Proactively work with internal stores network to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct Inter Stores Transfers where required to improve stock turn and aged stock profile.
  • Manage Reservations/kitting of spares for all Planned maintenance work for Craft teams.
  • Cycle Counting/stock control.
  • To demonstrate flexibility in terms of attitude and work practices.
  • To apply continuous improvement skills to drive site performance in terms of customer service and quality towards best-in-class standards.
  • To be aware of key performance indicators and act to ensure that they are achieved.
  • To demonstrate a strong commitment to personal & team development.
  • To support other team members and develop positive relationships with colleagues, including contract personnel.
  • To use skills to drive site towards world class plant materials management standards.
  • Pro-actively pursue & adopt a safe and professional approach to all aspects of individual & team-based activity.
  • Take a proactive role in Projects.
  • Work with Maintenance teams on repair program management.
  • Work in partnership with procurement resource to achieve savings and cost avoidance targets (reverse engineering; consignment stock; consumables vendor managed inventory; decoupling spares from service contractors)
  • Maintain high levels of 5S in stores to support achievement of H&S, Environmental standards, and efficient store layout and materials movements.
  • Other ad-hoc duties

Experience

  • Previous experience in a store role, engineering materials experience would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrate detailed understanding of customer requirements.
  • Understand how materials management impacts on a planned maintenance program.
  • Experience of developing and applying best practice in the stores management of engineering material.
  • Experience of working in a high-performance team and delivering agreed objectives.
  • Understand and be proficient in ERP systems with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel essential.

  • Fluency in English in both written and verbal communications essential and must be confident in dealing with clients and vendors.
  • Understand how to manage relationships with others effectively.
