As a research-driven pharmaceutical company, they have pioneered several groundbreaking medicines for serious diseases worldwide, including multiple sclerosis, diabetes mellitus, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and Parkinson's.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of federal tax returns in collaboration with internal and external tax advisors.
Identify and implement process improvements in company tax procedures.
Develop and execute strategic tax planning for federal and state taxes.
Serve as the liaison with tax advisors and external auditors.
Lead transfer pricing projects, including advance pricing agreements.
Manage IRS and state tax audits, including preparation of responses and schedules.
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments and devise strategies to adapt to changes.
Conduct financial audits on a daily and temporary basis and operational audits as needed.
Collaborate with accounting manager on monthly financial reporting.
Manage corporate credit card and financial system effectively.
Develop testing methodologies to evaluate control adequacy and document results.
Mentor and manage staff members to enhance effectiveness and engagement.
Handle Branded Prescription Drug Fees and R&D Tax Credits.
Support tax and accounting initiatives as required.
Qualifications:
BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or MS in Taxation required.
8+ years corporate tax and/or audit/accounting experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
Supervisory experience preferred.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP guidelines and Sarbanes-Oxley Act rules.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Proficiency in SAP, Concur, and MS Office.
Willingness to travel up to 5%.
Hybrid Work Model: 1-3 days/week in the office, depending on business needs.
