Job Description:

Seeking a Technical Sales Specialist to drive new business growth through providing Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) technologies to water utilities, municipalities, and water authorities located throughout Western WA state. Ideal candidates will have previous consultative problem-solving sales experience with technology, software, instrumentation, and/or enterprise systems with municipal or industrial customers. Prior experience in the water metering industry is not required.

Compensation includes an attractive base salary, lucrative annual bonus incentive, and monthly vehicle allowance. Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent industry experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of sales experience selling value-added technology solutions (i.e. SaaS, instrumentation and measurement systems, data monitoring software/hardware, SCADA systems, industrial capital equipment, water/wastewater treatment equipment, metering technologies, and/or similar technical products or services).
  • Understanding of consultative solution-based selling techniques with strong relationship management skills.
  • Strong competitive drive with a consistent track record of high sales achievements and new business growth.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide rudimentary troubleshooting support to existing customers.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Skilled in conducting internal sales training and external product training to customers.
  • Ability to attend industry association meetings, conferences, and tradeshows to identify new sales opportunities and foster business relationships.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/ERP systems to manage customer accounts, contacts, and opportunities.
  • Passionate about learning new technologies and committed to exceeding customer expectations.
  • Maintains a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50-65%, primarily day trips.
