Kinetic Automation is building a network of automated repair centers for modern vehicles. The auto industry is transitioning from mechanically complex vehicles to mechanically simple ones with complex software and technology. Kinetic aims to be the primary infrastructure-as-a-service for servicing future vehicles with our robotic repair centers, powered by our proprietary software and AI. We are a strong team of experienced robotics + automotive + shared mobility enthusiasts who have worked in self-driving, mapping, lidar, motorsport, ride-sharing and ghost kitchens. We are a venture backed startup (Series A) with a clear go-to-market strategy and meaningful revenue.
About the Role
You'll build both customer visible and internal web applications to support our business. These will include customer facing SaaS and AI products, APIs for our robotic calibration system, as well as internal tools like order management, dashboards, and billing. You'll also have responsibility for internal infrastructure to support other teams. This will include database schemas, deployments on AWS, automated testing tools, logging, monitoring, and CI/CD.
Kinetic is building a cloud platform to centralize data from across our business and host applications which use that data. You'll be critical to that effort. This role will have a wide set of responsibilities, and we're looking for a senior contributor with the breadth and depth of experience to lay solid foundations for future dev work.
We value simplicity, reliability, rapid iteration, and shipping applications that work. We use mature, well tested tools and eschew flashy web dev trends whenever possible. You'll help architect our systems to support mission critical work, while being easy to maintain, scale, and develop.

Experience & Skills Required
BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
5+ years of professional backend development experience
Expert level knowledge of Python, HTML, CSS, JS, and SQL
Professional experience with relational database schema design
Demonstrated experience with devops for mission critical applications
Experience deploying and scaling applications on AWS
Professional experience with Django
Ability to work in person in Oakland, CA
