TMC Transportation has an immediate full-time opening for a Logistics General Manager working out of our office in Brownsburg, IN Location.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The General Manager is responsible for the leadership, growth, and development of a TMC Logistics Center. Accountable for both the development of profitable customers, quality carriers, and exceptional people. Accountable for embodying and demonstrating the core values of Quality, Integrity and Continuous Improvement. This is done by utilizing communication, organizational, creativity skills to maximize revenue potential while meeting customer service/operational requirements and organizational goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in recruitment and hiring of qualified individuals
Communicate efficiently with assigned associates while successfully assisting in building strong partnerships with internal and external clients
Lead, mentor, and motivate other office team members
Assist team to improve, develop and grow customer commitments.
Support team in monthly reviews with Carriers, award and/or discipline Carriers in regards to their service.
Assist in resolving challenges as they arise concerning execution of the load from tendering, delivering, receivables, and payment of carrier
Conduct performance appraisals on all direct reports
Update and assist in any necessary tasks that enhance improvement to the success of the center
Update all Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
Communication efficiently with the VP and respective sales group with regards to challenges, successes, and general information with accounts, people, and processes on a daily and weekly basis
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Four-year degree in Transportation. Sales, Logistics OR relevant experience in transportation or related field
Proven success in Sales and Brokerage Management
Proven success in leading a Sales/Brokerage Team
Four years' experience in a 3PL environment preferred
P&L management Experience
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular to Word and Excel
Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment and tolerate stress
Ability to plan and organize, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
