Job Description:

A leading developer in the global automation market, Pepperl+Fuchs is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill an immediate need for a Senior Compliance Engineer in our Solutions Engineering Center (SEC).

The Senior Compliance Engineer will ensure P+F Products & Processes are in compliance with customer requirements, regulatory agencies (U.S and International), functional safety, hazardous locations standards and P+F engineering specifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Review and Release SEC Engineering drawings in EDM for manufacturing.
  • Review and Release any Supplier, Production or Engineering deviations in EDM.
  • Is the main authorized person on site to be the liaison between P+F USA and NRTL or Certified bodies to identify any clarifications, requirements, standards and documents.
  • Supports local and global team to review product designs to meet standards applicable to hazardous area certifications such as UL, CSA, IECEx, ATEX etc.
  • Review product requirements for region specific certifications such as PESO, CCC, INMETRO etc. and provide guidance to Sales and Engineering for the same.
  • Organizes compliance training by preparing schedules, performing costs analysis for tests with NRTL's.
  • Stay informed and formally communicate any updates to and changes to relevant standards or cert requirements.
  • Conduct and assess training for on boarding of new employees as well as any refresher training that may be necessary.
  • Provide coaching and development to employees to facilitate growth and development.
  • Ensures compliant products through internal and external audits, confirms and documents deviations in standard processes.
  • Responsible for travel as required to evaluate compliance of P+F products in the field/Customer site.
  • Manages QAR's and QAN's, and reviews any findings with action plan.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical field.
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience working with certification agencies like UL, CSA, Intertek, etc.
  • Demonstrate competency on UL508A and CSA C22.2 No 286 Certification, for the Industrial Control Panel Builder Certification Program.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret reports and business correspondence for a diverse audience.
  • Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive and solution focused.
  • Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with public and staff in a personable and professional manner.
  • Maintains a high level of energy and a consistent positive attitude.
  • Ability to work alongside other employees within all levels of the organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • UL 508 MTR certification
  • CompEx Ex01-04
