Class A CDL Flatbed Truck Driver - County Materials at CENTRAL PROCESSING CORP in Springfield, Illinois

Job Description:

We are seeking a Flat Bed Driver for our customer, County Materials in Springfield, IL.

Flat bed drivers are responsible for transporting goods from one point to another by driving a tractor with a flatbed trailer. A flatbed driver is responsible for securing all products before transport, ensuring safe and timely transport of products while following DOT regulations, performing all required inspections on equipment, loading and unloading trailers, handling paperwork, answering to customer inquiries, planning deliveries and insuring the truck is clean and in good operating condition.
Job Duties:
Demonstrate customer service while interfacing with clientsPerform pre-trip, post-trip, and in route inspections on all equipment, including securement devicesProperly secure load prior to transport following DOT regulationsOperate tractor trailer combinationsTransport product while ensuring compliance with DOT regulationsPerform duties consistent with all safety policies, including utilizing proper PPEUnload transported material utilizing approved methods- this may include the use of a pipe unloaderEnsure cleanliness and good operating condition for assigned tractorReceive work assignments and report back on job completionUse consistent communicate with dispatcherMaintain customer relations by acting in a professional, courteous manner
Work Environment:
Work in outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperaturesWork near moving machinery and equipmentWork in a noisy environment

Experience & Qualifications:
High school education (or Equivalent)Must hold a valid Class A CDL prior to hireMinimum of 2 years Class A driving experienceExperience as a construction worker, equipment operator, forklift operator, skilled laborer or general laborer is preferred, but not necessary

This position of Flat Bed Driver may be assigned to a contract carrier entity of which County Materials Corp. has no ownership or management authority over.
