ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Technical Specialist, Development Engineering you will be responsible forleadinga variety of work activities involving the coordination and execution of bench-top and pilot plant line trials on existing products, along with supporting integration of new manufacturingequipment and processing requirements. This would include material component prep, batching, sample filling, labeling, and finished product performance testing. The Technical Specialist, Development Engineering Process willbe called upon to train others on existing equipment, while learning and providing hands-on support with product forms across our Global Consumer Brands businesses. The candidate should demonstrate the capability to carry out experiments with limited supervision,to complete project assignments delegated by our department Engineers & Scientists, & Management team.

This is an onsite role in Racine, WI

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Work safely following established procedures and guidelines for equipment use and product or material shipping; includes training and safe operation of fork-lift &/or utility vehicle

  • Lead the material preparation, equipment set-up, batching and processing for assigned bench-top experiments and pilot plant trials

  • Maintain accurate, concise, and timely records of all relevant work activities, including preparing summary documents that contribute to final reports by lead engineer or scientist.

  • Coordinate routine maintenance on equipment and instruments, while leading the troubleshooting of unplanned issues

  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and other relevant regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulations.

  • Maintain Pilot Plant and laboratory equipment, supplies, and inventory on assigned product forms, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper functioning for efficient operation.

  • Serve as a resource for colleagues with less experience; assisting in formal training or orientation

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality control, and regulatory affairs, to support product development projects and meet project timelines.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING


  • 2-year technical degree or other related science and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

  • A high school diploma and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS


  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or other related science

  • Experience with Liquid &/or Aerosol Filling

  • Experience in the consumer products industry

  • Experience with handling (Good Laboratory Practices) GLP batching and documentation

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, able to document procedures, results, and observations accurately and efficiently


  • Strong Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and manage time effectively

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly and concisely

  • Adaptable to significant changes in assigned work routine or schedule based on business priority

JOB REQUIREMENTS


  • Position is Full-Time, r egular business hours, Monday-Friday

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

  • Travel up to 10%
