Job Description:

Primary Location:2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas, 75074We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Job Summary:Provide leadership and management for food service operation. Plan, direct and coordinate daily activities. Establish and maintain systems and procedures within the food service operation. Establish policies and procedures to ensure state and federal food safety compliance.


Work Schedule varies Monday through Sunday, 6 am to 10 pm. Must be able to adapt to work schedule and seasonal demands.
Required Qualifications:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Assist with planning, organizing and managing the activities of the College food service operation. Implement food service goals, objectives, policies and procedures.

  • Implement new programs and systems to support the food service operation.

  • Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation by staff to students, faculty, staff and external customers. Resolve customer problems and issues.

  • Manage costs of food, labor and supplies in accordance with the budget. Maintain cash handling standards, accounting, and reporting processes. Assist with preparation of the annual preliminary food service budget.

  • Help promote and drive wellness program menus and offerings.

  • Make recommendations regarding the purchase of equipment and supplies. Monitor inventory and place orders.

  • Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, and verify product quality and quantity.

  • Establish sanitation practices, cleaning schedules and other sanitary controls. Develop Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and safety standards for the operation, maintaining the highest rating on health inspections.

  • Ensure employees are trained on proper food preparation, kitchen safety techniques and health standards as required by the state health department.

  • Supervise staff. Assign and review work, participate in the selection of personnel, work with employee to correct deficiencies. Assist with the selection and training of student employees and temporary workers.

  • Perform some food preparation or service tasks such as cooking, clearing tables, and serving food and drinks when necessary.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, climbing and balancing, plus pushing, pulling and lifting. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting and intense noises. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Occasional physical effort required.


Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
At least five (5) years directly related experience opening a food service operation and or operating a food service establishment.


Licenses and Certifications

Required to complete Certified Food Manager or ServSafe certification within 30 days of hire.


Must possess a valid Texas Driver's license and pass a motor vehicle/driving records background check.



**Individuals hired for this position may be required to drive a company vehicle. A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be run in conjunction with the background check during the contingent offer stage and annually/bi-annually for the duration of employment at Collin College. Candidates who fail the original background/MVR report or subsequent MVR reports may not be hired and/or terminated based on the results of the report.**



Equivalency Language

An additional four (4) years of directly related experience may be substituted to meet the education requirement.
