Description:



The Controller will play a critical role in managing the financial heart of our client's company. This position is responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including accounting practices, budgeting, financial planning, and analysis, as well as managing financial risks in the company. The Controller will ensure that the complies with all regulatory financial requirements.



Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations including but not limited to ledger accounts, financial statements, and cost control systems.


• Ensure compliance with state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, with a special focus on California cannabis industry regulations.


• Develop and monitor budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and strategic planning.


• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.


• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audit processes.


• Provide financial analysis and guidance on growth, efficiency, and profitability improvements.


• Manage and supervise the accounting team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.


• Stay abreast of trends and regulations in the cannabis industry to ensure financial and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or Master's degree preferred.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role, with a preference for experience in the cannabis industry or other regulated industries.


• Strong understanding of GAAP, as well as financial regulations specific to the cannabis industry in California.


• Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and internal controls.


• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.


• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.


• Detail-oriented with an analytical mindset.
