Description:
We are working with a food manufacturer in Phoenix seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team. This person ensures the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment in a food manufacturing facility. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and food quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Maintenance:


• Perform routine preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.


• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machinery (e.g., mixers, conveyors, packaging machines, refrigeration units).


• Ensure equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.


• Facility Upkeep:


• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.


• Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and fix maintenance issues.


• Keep maintenance areas and tools clean and organized.


• Safety and Compliance:


• Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.


• Ensure compliance with food safety standards (GMPs, HACCP).


• Maintain accurate maintenance records.


• Technical Support:


• Support production teams with equipment setup and adjustments.


• Work with production supervisors and operators to resolve equipment issues.


• Assist in installing and commissioning new equipment.


• Inventory Management:


• Manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability.


• Coordinate with vendors for parts and supplies.


• Keep detailed records of parts usage and orders.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field preferred.


• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in maintenance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.


• Skills:


• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.


• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.


• Knowledge of PLCs, automated systems, and robotics is a plus.


• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.


• Basic understanding of computer systems and maintenance software.


• Physical Requirements:


• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).


• Ability to stand, walk, and work in various positions for extended periods.


• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, temperature variations, and food products.
