Kforce has a client that is seeking a Director of Payroll in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities:
Director of Payroll will oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including data input, processing, and distribution of employee paychecks while adhering to company policies and processes
Manage payroll tax activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations at the local, state, and federal levels
Reconcile benefit deductions, compensation, and employee data accurately
Review and approve payroll transactions, including salaries, bonuses, deductions, and taxes
Lead and develop payroll staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation
Ensure timely and accurate distribution of 1099s and W-2 forms
Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to maintain regulatory and client compliance
Take direct action to ensure accurate payment of salaries, wages, and allowances
Stay informed about federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, particularly those related to government contracting
Support the Payroll compliance function in preparing and submitting necessary payroll tax reports and filings
As a Director of Payroll, you will lead annual work planning for the payroll and payroll compliance function, including strategic plans, training materials, and tools
Champion payroll best practices across the organization through the Payroll Business Function Network (BFN)
Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Payroll and Payroll Compliance functions
Recommend and implement process and policy improvements aligned with company goals
Manage payroll and payroll compliance teams, providing support during audit
REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
