Purchasing Assistant - F/T at Northern Montana Health in Havre, Montana

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the Director of Materials Management, the purchasing assistant performs the functions of a buyer. Review requests for the purchase of equipment, supplies, and other items to assure compliance with purchasing policies and specifications. Interview vendors, review catalog, and other source material to obtain information on items for purchase. Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to ensure fair and reasonable agreements. Direct preparation and processing of purchase orders.

REQUIREMENTS:
1) High school education.
2) Typing ability of 45 words per minute.
3) Pleasant personality and good telephone manner.
4) Must be able to demonstrate good communication skills both written and oral.
5) Computer literate.
6) Must be attentive to detail, honest about mistakes, and have good organizational skills.
7) Valid Montana Driver's License with clean driving record.
8) Must understand contract terminology.

Salary is commensurate with up to 10 years of experience.
