What You'll Do

The Neighborhood House PRN is responsible for cataloguing and incorporating support documentation to maintain standards of reporting for various grants, as well as other day to day assignments that support ongoing assistance programs within Neighborhood House.

Responsibilities

Work Standards

  • Support day-to-day operations of Neighborhood House
  • Scan, categorize and itemize documents from prior years
  • Courteously and professionally answer and screen calls for request of assistance and program information
  • Ensure client and sensitive Organization information, files, and records are securely maintained; maintain the confidentially of all client and Organization information, files, and records always
  • Comply with all grant reporting requirements per grant guidelines; ensure report submission meets the reporting deadline; develop and maintain a tracking system of all annual proposals and grants received (awarded)
  • Prepare reports for the utility grant, rental assistance, and food vouchers as requested
  • Analyze, process, and approve rental assistance applications under program policy guidelines
  • Analyze, process, and approve food vouchers under program policy guidelines
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

  • Suggest innovative ideas for any efficiencies identified
  • Assist with clerical duties associates with grant management and contribute to departmental efficiencies
  • Assist with maintaining current records in database, including grant tracking and reporting; track statistics relevant to development and provide department with written materials necessary for donor stewardship; complete and submit interim, progress, and final reports and ongoing feedback to funders

  • Ensure client and sensitive Agency information, files, and records are securely maintained; maintain the confidentially of all client and Agency information, files, and records always

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years’ clerical or administrative experience
  • Ability to build a positive rapport with people, strong customer service skills
  • Ability to input data correctly and efficiently
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong time management & organizational skills
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

Physical Demands & Work Conditions

  • This position requires sitting and looking and using a computer for long periods.
  • Position may work in a child facility and have limited exposure to children.
  • Lift, push, pull or move up to 50 lbs.
