Under the general supervision of the Department Superintendent,
the Field Service Temp Worker performs routine work in servicing customer water
service accounts. This position receives regular supervision and direction from
supervisory staff.



TYPICAL DUTIES

1. Locate water meters and obtain accurate meter reads.
2. Perform meter box maintenance as needed.
3. Maintain inventory of tools, equipment and materials.
4. Prepare necessary paperwork as required.
5. Perform duties and operate equipment in a safe and
efficient manner in accordance with Company policy and safety standards.
6. Report to Supervisors any irregularities or safety
hazards.
7. Create and complete Kestral tickets.
8. Adhere to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Policy at
all times.
9. Maintain assigned Company vehicle to department and fleet
standards of organization, cleanliness and appearance.
10.  Assist
Conservation Department with CATCH appointments as needed.
11.  Any other duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Possession of a current, valid California driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
2. Working knowledge of the identification and use of common hand tools, common equipment.
3. Ability to perform strenuous outdoor physical work requiring manual dexterity, agility, strength, stamina and coordination.
4. Ability to accurately carry out oral and written instructions, and use independent judgement, initiative and sound decision-making.
5. Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public in situations where relations may be strained.
6. Ability and commitment to wear company uniform and maintain a neat and professional appearance during the entire work shift.
7. Ability to read and interpret street and SJWC service maps.
8. Good oral and written communication skills. Ability to write clearly and legibly.
9. Knowledge of basic computing skills and applications. Ability to learn, and apply new technology, such as Outlook, Kestral, Marmont, Merlin, and ADP on smartphones, laptops and desktops
10. Effective time management skills.



EDUCATION

Completion of High School
CA Driver's License

COMPENSATION

$22.765/hr
