The Product Manager will own product strategy/leadership for assigned product lines within the CQ Medical product portfolio. Position will be responsible for marketing and business functions related to product launches, product line support and roadmap growth strategies, while also working with marketing communications team writing copy, assisting in documenting product specifications, conducting market research, and creating placement and pricing strategies. The Product Manager will work closely with the product development team to document clinical workflows and design requirements, while making product decisions based on essential customer requirements and design optimizations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.):


  • Management of product including participation in overall product strategy, R&D requirements, marketing considerations, margin requirements, and launch tactics.

  • Display strong Project Management to ensure timely, accurate, and thorough processes are completed relative to each new product launch, including pricing, placement and messaging, marketing materials, training, documentation, regulatory requirements, isolation of key selling features, identification of competitive threats (including strategies to overcome those threats), and supporting the needs of the marketing communications team.

  • Ensure that the marketing communications team understands the products and placement strategy, and proof any materials made by the team to ensure the messaging will be clear in the Radiation Therapy sector and is consistent with internal goals and regulatory controls.

  • Provide internal reporting on the progress of product development and launch compared to project timelines, communicating key information to the rest of the product management team, engineering, operations, supply chain management, sales, and marketing.

  • Provide clear and concise product specifications and price points to key stakeholders.

  • Works closely with finance and marketing communications to ensure seamless product launch.

  • Communicate and Coordinate closely with operations, and especially with Supply Chain and Manufacturing leadership for all new and emerging products to incorporate their feedback into product planning and ensure solutions will meet launch deadlines.  

  • At all times, keep safe delivery of radiation therapy and patient comfort top of mind, while also considering the needs of health care providers.  

  • Manage product design & development for various patient demographics and clinical workflows with consideration for all global markets served.

  • Define product objectives, product placement strategy and coordinate strategies to increase volume and fulfill patient and provider needs. 

  • Work with service and engineering team to define service strategy prior to product launch.  Strategy could include approved parts lists and service personnel based on device need as well as service support pricing.  

  • Provide training to Account Managers, Distributors, and the International Sales team on selling points for new product launches as compared to existing products on the market.  

  • Collaboration with product development/engineering, manufacturing/operations and sales and marketing to develop and provide concise product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.

  • Establish strategies to grow market position and penetration.  Development of sales promotion concepts and sales aids to gain market share and combat competitive tactics. (Marketing communications team develops materials.)

  • Address customer needs and competitive challenges.  

  • Develop comprehensive price structure accounting for all costs, competitive conditions and margin requirements, in cooperation with the Finance department.  

  • Ensure short-term promotions and price strategy do not violate long-term business objectives.

  • Closely monitors competitive market activity, evaluating competitive strategies.

  • Develop long-term “value-added” strategies to insulate against competition and ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.

Required Education, Experience and Certifications:


  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (BA) in business administration, engineering, radiation oncology, medical sciences, health administration, or other related field. 

  • Five or more years of related experience and/or training related to clinical application of radiation oncology products, product management for medical devices, or other related experience.

  • Prior experience in product management, marketing, sales, product development, business development, contract negotiations, cost-benefit analysis, or project leadership.

  • Computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office software.

  • Knowledge of major uses/applications of Radiation Oncology products and processes.

  • The ability to problem-solve and to coordinate schedules.

  • The ability to maintain expenses within allocated budget.

  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and adequate liability insurance.

  • The ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.

  • This position can be either remote, in PA, or in IA.  If remote, residency must be near a major airport.
