About the Center for Effective Therapy:

The Center for Effective Therapy (CET) is our state-of-the art outpatient center at the Baker Center for Children and Families. Serving children ages 2-22 and their families, CET provides the highest-quality evidence-based care designed to treat a wide range of behavioral and emotional concerns. These behavioral and emotional concerns include but are not limited to problems with anxiety, depression, behavior challenges, and traumatic stress disorders. At CET, we treat a multicultural population of clients including individuals from low income, racial, and ethnic minority backgrounds, members of the LGBTQ+ population, and children presenting with gender diversity. With locations in Boston and Waltham, we connect with our local community and build relationships to help break down the stigma around behavioral health care and show that we are partners dedicated to promoting inclusivity as well as health and emotional well-being for all. To do so, we provide treatments that have been proven to work, and we do so in a tailored way, making sure that we can customize treatments to the unique, specific needs of every child and caregiver. To help us achieve this mission, CET is seeking passionate Licensed Independent Clinical Social Workers (LICSW's) and Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC's) to join its growing team. At CET we have a collaborative, multidisciplinary team of clinicians all enthusiastic about providing the best possible care to children and families. To support these goals, we provide ample training, supervision, and education to all members of our team and foster a community committed to learning, professional development, and continuous growth.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Senior Director of Outpatient Clinical Services, Licensed Social Workers and Licensed Mental Health Counselors will provide high quality behavioral health treatment to a culturally diverse population of children and young adults ages 2-22, utilizing evidence-based practices (EBP). Our mission is to take what we know works from science and to bring it into our community in the most widely accessible way. Clinicians will participate in onsite and virtual evidence-based trainings and receive support working towards certification in various evidence-based approaches. Weekly seminars, supervision, and consultation meetings are core aspects of setting all clinicians up for success and fostering our community of lifelong learners dedicated to increasing access to high quality children's behavioral health care. Essential Duties:
  • Provide direct clinical outpatient services to families seeking psychotherapy using established evidence-based practices.
  • Consult to established clients, school districts and staff, and other practitioners on the use of evidence-based practices across a variety of settings.
  • Participate in individual and staff supervision meetings and any specialty supervision meetings to facilitate professional development.
  • Conduct psychodiagnostic assessments and participate in weekly staff meetings and assessment seminar.
  • Collaborate with external providers to support the care of clients.
  • Document all clinical activities according to professional standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: Master's degree in social work, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • 1-2 years of post-licensure clinical experience, preferred.
    • Experience or familiarity with evidence-based practices.
    • Experience educating and coaching caregivers in 1:1 and/or group settings.
    • Experience or familiarity with evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, MATCH, TF-CBT, PCIT, ERP and SPACE Treatment are especially beneficial).
  • Training:
    • LICSW or LMHC in Massachusetts.
    • Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) certification, or eligibility to complete CANS training.
    • Ability to analyze and utilize outcomes from data, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Computer proficiency, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, and experience working with electronic medical/health records (EMR/EHR).
  • Skills:
    • Ability to learn and utilize evidence-based practices.
    • Commitment to cultural responsiveness, humility, incorporation of a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) lens into all aspects of clinical work.
    • Ability to analyze and utilize outcomes from data, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Full-Time LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: LICSW or LMHC SALARY: $70,000 - $80,000

SCHEDULE: Hybrid work model, combining onsite (Waltham OR Boston) and remote work. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is a benefit-eligible position.
