Wellness Fitness Coordinator- FT. Meade

Duties and Tasks:

• Plan, develop, coordinate and implement all activities of the Wellness Fitness Center/Program (WFC/P).


• Oversees designated wellness/fitness program(s), ensuring that all services under the agreements have been delivered and reported to the appropriate program manager.


• Provides orientation and training in the Wellness/Fitness Guidelines and Administrative Policies to specified new providers, delegates this function to appropriate providers and provides oversight.


• Provides communication to the staff on new policies or changes in old policies or procedures.


• Ensures that all WFC/P are staffed according to the scope of work and that work schedules are modified to meet fluctuating workloads.


• Implement programs and services described in the Wellness/Fitness Guidelines and Administrative Policies.


• Recommends the purchase of any needed exercise equipment to the Program Manager.


• Provides daily routine maintenance of existing exercise equipment and consults and coordinates with facility management when necessary regarding facility cleanliness and repair.


• Coordinates and/or ensures that supplies, equipment, files and client records are maintained in properly secured storage.


• Provides excellent written and oral communication skills when working with internal and external customers.


• Supervise the on-site staff, including all PRN/sub staff and instructors.


• Interview potential new staff and instructors, make hiring recommendations for the site and train employees both new and current.


• Provide guidance and direction of the work employees are to perform, delegating appropriate workloads among the fitness center staff, providing feedback and addressing any performance issues.
