Job Description Summary

Under the direction of the Media Manager, this role is responsible for supporting RFCU's traditional and social media opportunities, by providing additional support and backup for the Public Relations and Social Media team. Attends RFCU and other events to take photo and video to be used in social media and traditional marketing. Assists with the review of multiple social media platforms to ensure consistent messaging and a positive public image.

Works onsite in Huntsville, AL in close relation with our executive, marketing and community teams. 20%-35% travel between multiple RFCU and other locations in Al and TN for events. Schedule flexibility required based on event coverage.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Develops content for publication across a variety of media channels, showcasing RFCU's community impact, events, membership and employee leadership.


  • Works with digital and traditional publications to showcase RFCU, it’s community efforts and employee expertise and leadership.


  • Assists with digital, social media marketing and traditional advertising strategies to build awareness of the RFCU brand across multiple platforms, with a focus on community impact.


  • Assists with the facilitation of press conferences and briefings, assist with writing press releases and preparing staff as needed.


  • Supports the review of RFCU's brand profiles on across multiple social media platforms and additional internal social channels.


  • Builds long-term relationships with media influencers, press and community leaders.


  • Amplifies RFCU events (plan to be on-site for events), PR hits and speaking engagements.


  • Works with other teams across the Credit Union to promote RFCU activities, programs and events promoting business development and community relations in an impactful manner.


  • Assists with management of RFCU's social media and public relations team tasks, with particular attention to emergency responses, both internally and with external media.


  • Attends RFCU and other events and takes photos/videos, assists with internal interviews and external media requests.


  • Supports content development for Newsroom, blog and social.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Education Requirements

  • Required - 4 Year / Bachelors Degree - BS in Brand Strategy, Marketing, Public Relations or closely related field.

Experience Requirement


  • Required - 1 Year - Proven experience with content and campaigns in multiple forums; Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Indeed, Facebook, X, Instagram, video platforms, and discussion forums.


  • Required - 1 Year - Experience proofreading, editing and/or writing copy for press and/or social media.


  • Preferred - Experience with event photography/videography.


SKILLS/ABILITIES


  • Creative verbal, written, and visual communications and storytelling skills.


  • Hands-on day-to-day, tactical social execution (status updates, listening and analytics etc.)


  • Ensure all internal and external customer service practices and processes are carried out and meet quality service standards.


  • Provide guidance in the resolution of complex problems utilizing advanced knowledge and experience within areas of responsibility.


  • Promote and foster excellent member service and teamwork throughout department.


  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks and projects that requires agility and flexibility to move tactics forward instantaneously.


  • Communicate in a professional manner and deliver information clearly and effectively. Actively listen to questions, opinions and ideas of others. Use tact and diplomacy in sensitive and confidential situations.


  • Must be a self-starter, able to self-manage and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


  • Use correct English including spelling, grammar and punctuation.


  • Operate computers and use business software and other standard office equipment,


  • Understand and follow written and oral instructions.
