Job Description:

Definition: As a part of the ATCAA team, the Youth Development Coordinator plays an essential role in ATCAA as a whole. Under direct supervision of the Prevention Programs/YES Partnership Director, the Youth Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating assigned Friday Night Live (FNL), Club Live (CL), Friday Night Live Kids (FNLK) chapters, assisting with the coordination of the EPIC Youth Coalition, and other youth development related activities in Tuolumne County as assigned. The purpose of this program is to develop youth leadership skills and reduce the incidence of alcohol and substance use and abuse among the youth population of Tuolumne County.
Supervisor: Prevention Programs/YES Partnership Director
Supervises: Friday Night Live, Club Live, and Friday Night Live Kids Chapter Advisors as assigned by the Prevention Programs/YES Partnership Director
Job Duties and Responsibilities Related to This Position:
Friday Night Live/Club Live/Friday Night Live Kids Program Coordination including:
Assist with monitoring financial resources and purchasing procedures for FNL programs as assigned;Monitoring program to insure grant requirements are met;Maintaining close working relationships with schools, businesses and community organizations;Coordinating program objectives consistent with the statewide effort with input from YES Partnership;Preparing written reports as needed;Writing and/or assisting with grant proposals related to the FNL programs;Meeting with Friday Night Live/Club Live/Friday Night Live Kids chapters in schools;Assist in developing FNL leadership trainings and/or retreats for youth;Staying current on substance abuse risk trends and behaviors.
Friday Night Live Community Outreach Activities, including:
Working with school administrators, community businesses, parents and students to promote drug-free and sober activities;Collaborating with other local agencies and groups to coordinate youth substance abuse prevention;Recruiting guest speakers for presentations;Preparing presentations to high school and elementary school students and/or parents that effectively tailor FNL messages to different audiences;Participating in YES Partnership meetings to coordinate FNL activities with other youth activities in the schools and community;Provide information on FNL activities to community leaders and to local media;Participate in the California Friday Night Live Partnerships trainings and statewide consortia.
EPIC Youth Coalition Coordination, including:
Serve on the EPIC Steering Committee;Assist with the planning and coordination of the topic days;Recruiting high school students to participate in EPIC;Facilitating youth leadership activities including environmental prevention strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to work independently with little supervision;Experience and ability in conducting effective meetings and public speaking;Demonstrated organizational and oral and written communication skills;Ability to work well with a variety of people, including excellent communication skills with youth;Ability to model and facilitate substance-free activities as healthy alternatives;Meet all federal/state licensing requirements and/or program requirements necessary for this position: possess a continuously valid California drivers license, an acceptable driving record, and fingerprint clearance;Ability to lift 30 pounds.
Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with Tuolumne County Schools, youth organizations and programs;Experience with fundraising and program promotion;Experience working with youth, preferably middle school and high school-aged students;Community organizing skills and experience;Group facilitation skills and experience;Experience with health and human services program coordination.
