Job Description:

The Vice President of Finance and Administration is a senior-level executive responsible for overseeing the financial operations and strategies for the company.  This position reports to the Company President.  With insight from the Company’s President and its leadership team, this position is to develop strategy and drive the translation of strategic goals into an actionable/measurable business plan. This role is responsible for providing overall finance leadership, P&L accountability, deliver on financial and operating results and monitoring cashflow. It requires strong leadership, accounting and financial expertise, and the ability to provide strategic guidance to provide success for the Company. Successful candidates will be agile and flexible to meet business dynamics, have a strong accounting background, solid business acumen and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization.

What You Will Do:

Leadership, Business Partnership, Strategy:


  • Partner with stakeholders (Operations, General Management, Human Resources and New Business Development/Sales) to develop and support the execution of strategies to achieve annual and long-range goals.

  • Partner with General Management, New Business Development/Sales, and Operations to maximize revenue opportunities and mitigate risk to achieve or exceed growth objectives. Team with departmental stakeholders to develop incentive plans, pricing strategy, initiatives, and margin analytics in alignment with plan goals.

  • Ensure financial objectives are understood and implemented throughout the company

  • Perform hands-on monthly closing to generate financial statements and reporting

  • Responsible for forecasting sales, net operating earnings and cashflow

  • Prepare annual budget submission with subsequent forecasting updates

  • Manage ongoing Accounts Receivable transactions with monthly, quarterly and annual review of processes.

  • Focus on creating and maintaining good working relationships with banks, insurance carriers and external CPA firm.

Financial Acumen, Goal Development, Execution:


  • Deliver effective presentations and insights of business results and plan/forecast performance to leadership. Analyze risks and opportunities to drive actions and decisions to meet plan goals. Provide financial leadership and guidance to build companywide financial acumen to improve business results and business decision making skills

  • Own the forecasting process and use it as a means to drive business decisions that deliver on our financial commitments.

  • Develop working capital and key performance metrics to maximize operating income, revenue growth, cash flow and ROIC.

  • Lead the development and implementation of appropriate analytical tools and data to drive improved growth and profit margin improvement.

Talent Management:


  • Provide strategic direction, coaching and development for the accounting/collections teams.

  • Foster a culture of high performance, strong finance business partnership, engagement and belonging across the organization.

Compliance:


  • Maintain a robust and effective internal control environment.

  • Ensure the prevention, elimination, and timely closure of control deficiencies.

  • Interpret, implement, and/or maintain corporate financial policies, practices and procedures, including provision of effective controls and audit capabilities to ensure conformance to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Financial Corporate Accounting Policies (FICAP) and Sarbanes Oxley.

  • Continually improve upon the quality and effectiveness of internal controls through implementation of policies and procedures and development of the business culture and processes in support of an effective internal control environment.

What You Need to Succeed:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, MBA preferred but not mandatory.

  • 15+ years in the finance or accounting function.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, understand the vision of the organization, and turn information into effective strategies to drive business performance.

  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to build strategies and link strategy to financial plans

  • Ability to influence across the organization at senior levels and to become a proactive, trusted advisor and thought leader on strategic issues to drive results

  • Results oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities

  • Strong work ethic to process work product while paying attention to detail

  • Strong oral, written and formal presentation skills including ability to communicate complex financial issues in a simple way

  • Strong interpersonal skills: work well as part of a cross-functional team and able to interact at all levels

  • Previous experience leading others with the ability to engage, inspire & influence people required

  • Strong change leadership skills required. Must have demonstrated ability to proactively drive change within a business to enhance business results
