Description: Our client is currently seeking a Network Administrator to work onsite in Austin, TX (78702).


The Network Administrator is responsible for configuring and maintaining our Fortinet devices, managing network security, and providing technical support. You will monitor network performance, ensure compliance with industry standards, and manage backup and recovery processes. You will also collaborate with IT staff and oversee network-related projects, providing superior customer service to end-users in a helpdesk level-2 capacity.



This job will have the following responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Fortinet devices such as firewalls, switches, and access points. Implement network policies and procedures to ensure optimal network performance and security.


• Monitor network traffic and security alerts. Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing. Apply security patches and updates to Fortinet devices.


• Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly. Provide technical support for network-related problems and user inquiries. Maintain documentation of network configurations, incidents, and resolutions.


• Ensure network compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Enforce network usage policies and procedures to maintain network integrity and security.


• Manage network backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability. Regularly test backup and recovery procedures.


• Work closely with other IT staff and departments to ensure seamless network operations. Communicate network changes, updates, and issues effectively to relevant stakeholders.


• Functions as level 2 Helpdesk support. Delivers exceptional customer service. May participate in on-call support schedule.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Valid driver's license


• Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.


• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role with hands-on experience.


• Strong understanding of network technologies, database security, and encryption technologies.


• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with Fortinet environments and automation tools.
  
  


• Professional certifications such as CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), CompTIA Network+, or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
