Job Description: The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for resolving database issues, ensuring solutions are timely and of acceptable quality. The role primarily involves efficient and effective management of the corporation's databases, ensuring they are highly available, stable, recoverable, and maintain data integrity.
Due to the nature of the work, a US Citizenship is required.
Requirements:
Advanced T-SQL skills
Advanced knowledge of SSMS (SQL Agent Jobs, Functions, Views, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of SSIS (Complex Solutions, Task Flows, etc.)
Proven experience with database job automation and development
Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking
Communication and presentation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to communicate and interact across facilities and at various levels
Skills to mentor less experienced team members
Availability for variable shifts and hours, and carrying/responding to a pager may be required
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with team members to manage and maintain the data integrity and completeness of the Database assets
Communicate changes and issues in the environment for process management with development DBAs and operational DBAs
Identify opportunities for process enhancements and efficiency gains
Participate in ongoing improvement initiatives to automate and achieve operational excellence
Maintain a server and database object inventory of databases within the appropriate management systems (ServiceNow) and ensure assets are properly documented (versions, editions, options, objects, etc.)
Provide reporting (scheduled and ad hoc) as needed, to support EDM activities
Collaborate with team members to maintain current documentation on procedures, processes, tasks, and activities
Define, install, coordinate, implement, and test database backup and recovery methodology for each data server. Collaborate with the team to monitor database performance and identify and correct performance bottlenecks
Provide day-to-day support and guidance in handling the daily schedule of department production jobs. Maintain technical stability with data dictionary, data security, and application database environments through appropriate monitoring/control. Provide effective management support through the timely response to management staff problems and needs
Participate in and provide information into the designs of technical standards and policies regarding data, imports, exports, and general access to data
Evaluate processes and present time and cost estimates for database job modifications and development
