The Director of IT Applications (Digital Automation) is responsible for overseeing digital automation within the organization. Reporting to the VP of Data Analytics and Business Solutions, this role oversees teams in the US and India totaling 30 people. The successful candidate has an understanding of data science, AI, business process management (BPM), and robotic process automation (RPA) and drives technology-enabled process improvement across the organization.

This role focuses on two foundational goals:
• Drive financial value across the enterprise by effectively applying analytics and automation
• Ensure the stability, continuity, and fit for purpose of Medline's analytics and automation assets

Responsibilities:


  • Lead the digital automation teams in both the US and India to ensure the delivery of best-in-class digital automation solutions while balancing time, cost, and scope.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the digital automation teams.

  • Develop and maintain an effective digital automation strategy that aligns with the organization's business goals and objectives.

  • Provide thought leadership and guidance to executives and stakeholders on business automation strategy and best practices. Manage enterprise leaders' expectations regarding digital automation assets and services.

  • Establish and monitor performance metrics to ensure the digital automation teams meet or exceed service levels and KPIs. Champion a data-driven decision-making culture.

  • Manage and optimize the budget for the digital automation teams, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet business demands.

  • Provide oversight and guidance relative to staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions

  • Implement and maintain digital automation solutions with adherence to data security, architectural, and change management best practices.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, computer science, data science, engineering or related field; Advanced degree (masters or MBA) preferred.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
  • Experience managing teams in a global setting, including remote teams in India.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive change within the business and IT at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with business stakeholders and executives.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with proven data literacy and the ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in digital automation and AI.
  • Experience managing budgets and financial forecasting.
  • 4 years of experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment, with strong prioritization and project management skills.
