Primary Function of Position

The Environment, Sustainability, and Governance (ESG) Report Writer and Project Manager will serve as a key member of our Global Public Affairs team, writing and project managing the process of developing Intuitive's annual sustainability report. This includes, but is not limited to: collaborating and building relationships with cross-functional teams across the business and Intuitive's global footprint, to understand, collect, and track key data points that illustrate Intuitive's commitment to and progress towards sustainability; developing and executing a report production plan and timeline; writing the report; and managing the review and clearance process. This role will work with leadership to establish the narrative framework for the ESG report, which represents Intuitive's key external sustainability communication, and write the report in a way that is clear, compelling and aligned with Intuitive's commitments, patient and customer focus and corporate voice.

This role will work with functions across the business understand Intuitive's business and sustainability priorities and progress, in order to convey these in the report and other communications deliverables (if and ask needed) that meet the needs of various audiences.

Essential Job Duties


  • Serve as project manager and lead writer for all aspects of Intuitive's annual sustainability report from data collection and tracking through report publication.

  • Set all associated goals and timelines for the annual ESG report.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect and identify relevant data, information and insights to inform Intuitive's annual sustainability report, with the goal of maximizing the impact of Intuitive's ESG reporting and messaging for targeted audiences.

  • Work with internal cross-functional partners to ensure that content is consistent with Intuitive's corporate voice and mission.

  • Coordinate with design team to develop report and work across the organization to get final approvals for content and final product.

  • Manage, maintain, and reinforce the highest editorial standards and participate in relevant processes for adhering to writing, compliance, and other guidelines throughout the organization.

  • Participate in regular updates to Intuitive editorial guidelines, SOPs, tools, checklists, and templates to ensure editorial guidance is incorporated into work product.

  • Work closely with cross-functional colleagues to understand and facilitate required reporting for compliance and external assessment.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience serving in increasingly senior roles associated with writing, editorial guidance and messaging tools.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience writing and managing ESG/CSR/sustainability reports and materials for large corporations, academic institutions, or other multinational organizations.

  • Familiarity with ESG report topics (climate change, biodiversity, diversity & inclusion, corporate governance, supply chain, etc.)

  • Understanding of sustainability reporting frameworks, industry standards and third-party assessment providers.

  • Comfort working in a high-volume, fast-paced, highly matrixed global environment with evolving priorities.

  • Demonstrated track record of excellence in technical writing and editing and ability to get up to speed quickly on complex ideas and effectively translate them for key audiences.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and collaborative work style that can manage competing priorities and meet project timelines

  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to gather information from disparate sources, including through informational interviews, and transform it into a cohesive and compelling narrative.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.


Required Education and Training
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Communications, Business or related experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experience with investor relations and/or medical devices or similarly regulated industry a plus.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $172,000 USD - $258,000 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $146,200 USD - $219,400 USD
Shift: Day
Travel: 10% of the time
Workplace Type: Purposeful Onsite - This job requires being onsite for leader-defined events and activities which could be monthly/annually. Onsite frequency may increase based on business need.
