The Opportunity



As part of the Disaster Recovery Services team under Platform Performance Management within the Platform Engineering and Operations group, the Disaster Recovery Analyst facilitates the design, development, implementation, and testing of disaster recovery (DR) plans for the owners of critical applications and services across Mass General Brigham (MGB). The Analyst will also coordinate the auditing of periodic DR plan tests performed by application/service owners in coordination with other MGB Digital technical teams.



Principal Duties and Responsibilities



• Work closely with application/service owners to document business requirements and translate those requirements into functional disaster recovery specifications.


• Facilitate the creation of Disaster Recovery (DR) plans by working with application/service owners, vendors, other Platform Performance Management team members, and other MGB Digital technical teams.


• Train end users on creating and maintaining DR plans and using the DR plan repository. Develop end-user documentation for the same.


• Create and execute reports to communicate DR plan test status to application/service owners and MGB leadership.


• Participate in broader efforts to create and improve disaster recovery strategies that comply with Mass General Brigham's disaster recovery policy and senior management's strategic direction.


• Maintain professional affiliations to stay on top of evolving disaster recovery strategies and processes.


• Provide exemplary customer service as a member and representative of the Mass General Brigham Disaster Recovery Services team.


• Utilize standard work and project management tools and adhere to standard change management protocols.

Qualifications

Qualifications



• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.


• 5+ years of related experience in healthcare or a related field.


• 5+ years of prior experience in project management.


• 2-3 years of prior exposure to disaster recovery practices.



Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required



• A working knowledge of Disaster Recovery concepts and industry best practices.


• Foundational knowledge of technology infrastructure (applications, servers, storage, networks).


• Strong organizational and project management skills.


• Strong interpersonal skills to work with technical and non-technical managers and staff at all levels of the organization.


• Ability to facilitate initiatives within a complex, multi-site environment.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• A demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of the organization.


• A demonstrated commitment to the delivery of high-quality customer service.


• Demonstrated experience as a collaborator, working across different teams and with vendors to achieve results.



Working Conditions



• Remote/home office, with potential travel to Mass General Brigham locations (standard remote worker equipment will be provided).


• Potential need to work in patient care areas.


• May require 24X7 responsibilities, including evening, night, and weekend hours as needed.


• Requires regular participation in an on-call rotation, which includes responding to 24x7 alerts during the on-call period and requires remote access to resolve issues.



Supervisory Responsibility



• None.



Fiscal Responsibility:



• Participate in budget planning exercises and provide budgeting guidance to Platform Performance Management leadership to maximize cost-benefit.
