Job Description:

Job Summary


The Forklifts Operator is responsible for safely operating forklift while performing warehouse and material handling duties.


Job Responsibilities   


• Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus


• Positions lifting forks device under loaded pallets, skids and transports load to designated area


• Maintains material in an efficient and orderly manner, by size and grade for easy retrieval


• Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device


• Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed


• Inspect material for damage or shortages and report to Supervisor


• Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device


• Lubricates truck, recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank


• All other duties as assigned by Supervisor


Qualifications


• Valid active forklift certification


• Ability to speak effectively before customers and employees, and read and understand safety rules, operation, maintenance, and procedure manuals and documents


• Add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals


• Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form


• 1 year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience


• Two year technical degree or equivalent and 3-5 years’ experience in related field


• Certified Forklift Operator


• Ability to read and understand work orders and written instructions


• Ability to utilize measuring devices such as rulers, tapes and calipers


• Ability to utilize computer to check stock and print tags


• Product knowledge


• Be able to use banding equipment


Compensation


$23.02 Hourly
