We are growing our Supply Chain team and have created a new Supplier Development and Quality Engineer role. You will lead the initiative to optimize our supply base, taking it to innovative levels for our internal and external customers. Partner with our suppliers to improve their capabilities, processes, and performance.

Salary Range: $67,000 - $85,000, depending on experience

Core Contributions:

• Evaluate Supplier Performance: Conduct thorough audits, assessments, and ongoing monitoring to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance. Provide leadership and input in Quarterly Business Review with top suppliers.
• Supplier Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and communication to drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and cost.
• Supplier Develop Initiatives: Drive process improvements, capability assessments, and corrective action plans to address quality issues and enhance supplier capabilities.
• Document Quality Processes: Develop and document supplier related quality processes and procedures, including incoming inspections, providing training and guidance on best practices across the organization.
• 
  Drive Continuous Improvement: I mplement best practices, benchmarking industry standards, and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement in supplier quality performance. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to address non-conformances, quality deviations, and supply chain disruptions.
• Collaborate: Collaborate with Sourcing, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to define quality requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria for new and existing products and services.
• Technical Support and Guidance: Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers on quality-related matters, including product and process validation, failure analysis, and quality system requirements.
• New Product Development: Participate in new product development projects, supplier selection processes, and supplier qualification activities to ensure alignment with quality objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Supplier Training: Conduct training sessions and workshops for suppliers to enhance their understanding of quality expectations, standards, and methodologies.
• Stay Informed: Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies related to supplier quality management and incorporate best practices into our processes and procedures.
• Approximately 30% domestic travel is needed.

Essential Experiences:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, supply chain management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience in supplier development, quality engineering, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of quality management principles, tools, and methodologies (e.g., APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Six Sigma)
• Lead Auditor Certification in ISO Standards with p roficiency in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and ERP systems (Epicor is a plus)
• Certification in quality engineering (e.g., CQE) or supplier quality management (e.g., CSQP) is a plus
• Knowledge of lean techniques and processes is preferred
