M&R Mechanical Engineer at The Select Group in Raleigh, North Carolina

Job Description:

Job Duties: Responsible for the development/review of M&R associated project scoping documents, including technical scope of work, operating/control philosophy, and design basis as well as selection and sizing of regulators and control valves for adequate capacity, control rangeability, accuracy, etc. Design, select and size customer meter set assemblies to meet customer flow and pressure needs, per industry and company specifications. Responsible for the calculation and specification of relief valves per company and industry standards. Responsible for the development/review of construction design packages (issue for review, issue for bid, issue for permit, issue for construction, and as-built drawings), including Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), piping drawings, instrument schematics, M&R station pressure blocks, and related documentation for M&R associated assets that include, but are not limited to, customer meter set assemblies (MSAs), district regulator stations, city gate stations, producer interconnection MSAs, utility interconnection metering stations, and pressure limiting stations. Provide engineering support for M&R assets to operations as needed.


Requirements: Bachelor's or foreign degree equivalent in Mechanical Engineering plus five (5) years of experience in job offered or related project engineering/management positions within the oil, natural gas or utilities industry.


Must have experience in:

• M&R (Measurement and Regulation) Station
• Control Valve or Regulators Sizing or Regulations (ASME B31.8)
• Measurement Station, Custody Transfer station
• Relief valve capacities, over pressure protections
• Piping/Pressure Systems

Travel required to various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S.
