POSITION SUMMARY
The Consultant and Data Analyst, Philanthropy Insights and Analytics (PIA), collaborates extensively with firm colleagues to deliver high-quality analytical solutions and strategic consulting that inform and transform client engagements and foster advancement across the philanthropy sector. This is a primarily client-facing role that is instrumental in the collection, analysis, and visualization of complex data to create impactful client deliverables. This position also actively engages in and contributes to the firm's research and development efforts, aiming to elevate the fundraising industry and the firm's offerings. As a collaborative team member, this individual provides expert counsel across diverse practice areas, including higher education, independent schools, healthcare, and arts, culture, research, and environment. Additional responsibilities extend to project management, business development, and thought leadership. The Consultant and Data Analyst reports to the Vice President for Philanthropy Insights and Analytics and works closely with the Philanthropy Insights & Analytics team and consultants across the firm. This is a remote position within the United States.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analysis and Insights:
* Analyze and synthesize data from internal and external sources.
* Collaborate with project teams to provide standard, custom, and advanced analytics that are tailored to client needs.
* Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights through innovative and high-quality client deliverables.
Strategic Counsel:
* Evaluate fundraising performance using multi-period and multi-source data to identify trends and anomalies.
* Provide data-driven counsel to internal and external audiences, effectively communicating strengths, challenges, opportunities, and strategic recommendations.
Project Management and Collaboration:
* Actively participate in project teams in a client-facing role, providing analytics expertise.
* Collaborate with firm colleagues across all practice areas and locations to deliver solutions.
* Develop strategic solutions to technical issues.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
* Identify and implement process improvements in data analysis and delivery.
* Maintain competency in fundraising trends, modern analytics methodologies, and related technologies.
* Explore and apply innovative solutions across projects.
Sector Advancement:
* Serve as an internal and external subject matter expert on the topics of data analysis, business intelligence, and other areas of proficiency.
* Contribute to business development, firm research and development, and thought leadership.
* Contribute to the advancement of philanthropy.

QUALIFICATIONS
* Minimum five years of directly related analytical experience
* Minimum two years of experience working in or with the nonprofit sector
* Demonstrated expertise in data analytics
* Demonstrated knowledge of modern data analysis, data management, business intelligence, and reporting best practices
* Experience with customer/constituent relationship management systems like Raiser's Edge and/or Salesforce
* Experience with leading analytics and business intelligence tools including Power BI, R, Python, SQL, and/or Tableau
* Experience with prospect development, annual giving, and/or advancement operations preferred but not required
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Word) and Adobe
* Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas to a variety of audiences both verbally and in writing
* Ability to establish, cultivate, and nurture relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders
* Ability to think and work strategically and effectively execute upon a plan
* Demonstrated organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
* Demonstrated discretion and professional judgement in decision making
* Demonstrated ability to attain performance targets
* Demonstrated expertise in, and passion for, the advancement of philanthropy
* Experience in the nonprofit sector, specifically in higher education, independent schools, healthcare, and/or arts, culture, research, and environment
* Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred
