Are You Our Next Manager, Water Planning and Operations?



This role will manage the team and business function that provides technical and operational water-management related leadership for Mosaic's North America phosphate business, inclusive of all manufacturing activities in Florida and Louisiana. The position provides leadership to the broader business unit to support development and maintenance of a comprehensive operational water management plan. The position also leads continuous improvement initiatives that leverage technology to reduce risk and drive efficiency in the business. This includes the identification, development, and implementation of innovative technologies and strategies to modernize and streamline how the business plans, monitors, reports, and manages water at the facility level. This role closely collaborates with facility and functional support teams to ensure that water management objectives, operational goals, and environmental risks are properly identified, communicated, and managed in a balanced manner.



What will you do?





  • Provide leadership to the team responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating facility specific water management operations plans for concentrate facilities in Florida and Louisiana (active and idle) with the overarching goal of balancing costs and reducing risks for the business. Develop, track, and report performance and cost metrics to drive efficiency and compliance with plans. Support regulatory compliance and permitting functions.

  • Provide technical leadership on water treatment technologies and the operation of process water treatment system at all active and idled sites. Identify, develop, and implement innovative technologies and strategies to modernize and streamline how the business plans, monitors, reports, and manages water to improve operational efficiencies, drive cost improvements, and reduce business risks.

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate capital project needs associated with water management in collaboration with operations, capital teams, finance, environmental, and technical support functions for water balance, process engineering, and gypsum stacking. Provide engineering and technical support to ensure successful implementation of projects.

  • Provide work direction to the team as well as timely and constructive feedback to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work, roles, business goals and performance standards. Manage performance issues when necessary. Develop and coach employees to retain and grow organizational talent. Support employees in their career development at Mosaic.




What do you need for this role?





  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required. Chemical, Civil, Environmental or related engineering / science field, preferred.

  • 8-10 years of applicable experience including engineering, project management, people leadership, industrial operations, and projects.

  • Demonstrated prior experience in developing and applying technologies and solutions to water management issues.

  • Understanding of water balance and hydrological modeling concepts and practices

  • Prior leadership experience

  • Engineering with emphasis on industrial water treatment

  • Able to travel 10-20% to FL and LA sites




KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES



  • Knowledge of US regulatory programs and processes.

  • Effective planning, communication, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.

  • Financial planning, reporting, and management skills.

  • Effective project management and organizational skills.


Bonus if you have the following:



  • PE License

  • Master's Degree

  • Knowledge of industrial water treatment unit processes and operations.

  • Florida and Louisiana regulatory programs knowledge.

  • Advanced statistical evaluation and risk management skills.

  • Development and application of water balance and hydrologic models.

  • Knowledge of field instrumentation techniques, automation, and data collection and processing.
