Kforce's client is looking to add a Senior Buyer to their Phoeniz-area based team. This is a nine month contract assignment, conversion to FTE is possible at the end of the assignment based on performance in the role. The Senior Buyer plays a crucial role in our client's Government Solutions department. This position involves purchasing goods and services at the most favorable terms, ensuring efficient procurement processes.
Key responsibilities include:
Supplier Qualification: Evaluate and qualify suppliers
Contract Management: Route and file contracts, review invoices for accuracy
Negotiation: Negotiate prices and terms for purchased goods and services
Supplier Quality: Monitor supplier quality and maintain a current supplier database
Performance Reviews: Prepare and deliver supplier performance reviews
Adherence to Policies: Uphold established purchasing methods, policies, and procedures
Independent Work: Operate with minimal supervision and demonstrate a high level of independence
Guidance and Influence: Provide guidance to other department members in planning and inventory management principles
Essential Responsibilities:
MRP Management: Respond promptly to changes in order demand by managing Material Requirement Planning (MRP) reports
Purchase Orders: Prepare and process purchase orders, agreements, and supplier onboarding
Negotiation: Handle strategic purchases, extended payment terms, and other higher-level purchasing functions
Discrepancy Resolution: Resolve discrepancies with suppliers to benefit company
Component Qualification: Coordinate with engineering to qualify new or alternate components
Inventory Analysis: Analyze inventory requirements to maintain steady component levels
Procurement Tasks: Perform various procurement tasks, including contract signature routing and database data entry
Quotes and Orders: Obtain and analyze quotes and orders in line with established policies
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of related functional work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Direct experience with MRP in Procure-to-Pay applications (e.g., Great Plains, Oracle, SAP, Coupa, Ariba)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Location
This position can be performed 100% remotely, although candidates in the Phoenix area are preferred (local candidates will be expected work a hybrid schedule). Additionally, travel to the Phoenix area would be required for the first two weeks for training.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
