Cost Accountant at RBC Bearings in Simpsonville, South Carolina

Job Description:

Main Responsibilities:

• Perform month end close activities related to cost accounting and inventory reconciliations.


• Prepare schedules and analysis for period closings as required by management and external reporting.


• Maintain standard costs of finished goods and production components in SAP.


• Manage and review quarterly cycle counts at plants and physical counts when needed.


• Prepare variance capitalization each quarter and propose any necessary changes or adjusting journal entries.


• Maintain and improve internal controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.


• Prepare cost roll analysis in SAP and review burden study files from the plants during the AOP process.


• Prepare inventory analysis as required.


• Work with plant controllers and international locations on topics related to Controlling activities


• Support with budgeting and intercompany activity as required.


• Other tasks as required by the business.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance


• 3+ years experience


• Manufacturing industry experience


• Hands on ERP experience, preferably SAP


• Cost Accounting experience, preferred


• Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail


• Strong communication skills within all levels of the company


• Curious mindset regarding business and processes


• Works well in a team environment, ability to take on other duties as needed


• Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts


• Advanced Excel skills and database management a plus.
